The South African national team, the Bafana Bafana have broken a 23-year old jinx by humiliating the Super Eagles of Nigeria 2-0 away from home in a Nation Cup qualifier on Saturday.
South Africa have never beaten Nigeria in a competitive football game since 1994, but that jinx was broken at the Apkpabio Stadium in Uyo on Saturday when the visitors controlled the game and came out victorious.
Rantie Tokelo breaks the deadlock with a great header from inside the box after a decent cross by Mphahlele on the right hand side to put South Africa in front in the 55th minute of the game.
Percy Tau scores with his first touch of the game after beating the offside trap. He rounded the keeper and finishes it off brilliantly to make it 2-0 for the visitor in the 81st minute of the game to silence the entire stadium.
The Super Eagles were very sloppy in the second half of the game as the South Africans took over the game, dominating possessions.
The South Africans would have scored more goals as they had two shots which hit the posts. They were simply the better side in the match.
