One of the residents, an Indigene from Onitsha, confided in Gistmania that the mysterious deaths had been happening in the same building. The first victim was an Abakaliki woman, who was doing an insignificant job with her only daughter.
She said that the woman was healthy the day she died as nothing was happening to her as at the time the daughter said they went to bed but could not wake up the next morning. The source, who did not want his name to be printed, said that the other person who died was a Hausa man hired to dig the soaking pit, but he died when part of the well fell and buried it inside. Gistmania spoke to some of the people still living in the building.
A tenant woman approached by our correspondent said that the late Solomon committed suicide. She asked why she should take the risk of sleeping where there was no protection? Why did not he use wood to barricade the area if he wanted to sleep there?
"I was living here before we packed in. We are all here because of the difficulty and I believe that one day, I will move from this place because no condition is permanent." The incident has nothing to do with cultism. Said they died a long time ago and the children are all abroad. I am not blaming anyone but my God, "said the woman.
