There are millions of myths that revolve around what a pregnant woman should and should not do, some of those myths are that pregnant should sit all day, should not dance, should not exercise or wear heels and much more but it is best advise for all pregnant women is to study themselves and also do loads of research before following any pregnancy myths and know which exercise is easy and works for you because it is important for you to keep fit.
“As a pregnant woman, your fitness should be a priority, consider safe exercises like walking, swimming, prenatal Yoga and stretching, and attending low impact aerobic classes”. Below are reasons why you need to keep fit as a pregnant woman.
Brings about better sleep: “Finding a good position for pregnant women can really be a challenge, but exercise will help you work off any excess energy and make you tired which is enough to lull you into a more restful sleep”.
Boosts Energy: “Pregnancy uses up lots of energy, but regular bouts of exercise would help you get through daily tasks and cope up with demanding schedule, research has it that keeping fit or exercising actually strengthens the cardiovascular system which makes it difficult to get tired easily but when your muscles are strong you need less effort to engage in other activities like sitting through meetings in the office or go shopping”.
Prepares For Childbirth: “The better shape you’re in, the stronger you’ll be during labour and also delivery time, giving birth is likened to running a marathon, which requires stamina, determination, and focus, although it hasn’t been well researched, but training for childbirth through exercise may ease labor and even shorten the time it takes to deliver your baby”.
Reduces Pregnancy Discomfort: “Regular exercise stretches and strengthens your muscles, which helps your body cope better with the aches and pains of pregnancy, stretching eases pain, walking improves your circulation, and swimming can strengthen your abdominal muscles”.
