Elizabeth Oluwakemi Oshodi, the mother of Dammy Krane has defended his ‘honest’ son following his recent arrest in the US.
Last Friday was an unfortunate one for the 23-year-old singer’s family, when he got arrested trying to board a flight from Maimi to Washington, Maryland.
‘His ticket and hotel bookings were fraudulently purchased by the show promoters,’ Oshodi said in the family’s official statement. ‘And because of Dammy Krane’s fame, all accusatory hell, broke loose,’ she added.
Dammy Krane is currently being held in Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami, US on a four-count charge that include third degree grand theft, credit card scam, forgery and armed robbery.
Elizabeth further described her son as; ‘a true gentle and honest citizen of our planet, and remains a good ambassador for not just the music industry, but Nigeria as a whole.’
Dammy Krane is more popular amongst Nigerian music lovers for songs like; ‘Amin’, ‘Gbetiti’, ‘Faleela’, and ‘Izzue’ with Davido.
He will possibly face jail term or get a fine if found guilty of the charges in court.
