A 31-year-old man was fatally knifed as he casually ate a bagel outside a Brighton Beach deli early Thursday, officials said.
Startling video acquired by the Daily News shows the victim sitting on a crate outside the B&B Mini Market on Neptune Ave. and Brighton Fourth St., trying to wolf down a bagel and some tea biscuits when a 36-year-old man in a black tank-top and blue shorts walks up to him.
The killer casually unfolds a knife and says something to his victim before jamming the blade into his chest, the video shows.
“It was very heartbreaking,” Angel Reyes, 26, a local resident said of the video. “I know the suspect. I've seen him in my neighborhood. I pay no attention to him.”

The victim ultimately runs to a green cab for help, but ends up collapsing on the street in front of the vehicle.
Medics rushed him to Coney Island Hospital, but doctors were unable to save him. His name was not immediately released.

The suspect, who witnesses identified as Eric, said the victim had robbed him.

“He was just eating breakfast,” Reyes said of the victim. “I think it had to do with something in the past and it just caught up with him.”
Another resident, who only wanted to be identified as Sean, said he was a known drug user.
“The victim, he was a little bit mental,” he said. “He came up to my mom (last week) and said, ‘kill me! kill me!’”
