The embattled member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Gboyega Aribisogan, was on Tuesday suspended indefinitely after he had demanded the resignation of the Speaker, Kolawole Oluwawole, and the governor, Ayodele Fayose.
The house handed the suspension yesterday through a resolution, a few hours after Mr. Aribisogan addressed a press a conference to make his demands.
The member, who is representing Ikole 1 constituency, had earlier told journalists in Ado-Ekiti that he made these demands in his capacity as the Minority Leader, having defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 26-member Assembly.
The Punch reports that the state Publicity Secretary of the APC, Taiwo Olatunbosun was at the briefing.
However, a few hours after making the demand, the Ekiti State House of Assembly sat and passed a resolution suspending Aribisogan, indefinitely, from the assembly.
It was gathered that the lawmaker had earlier been suspended by the same house for 180 legislative days for alleged anti-party activities.
Meanwhile, the house also barred him from accessing the premises the House of Assembly complex within a 1km radius until “further notice”.
