Hajia Bintu Yusuf who is the mother of Yusuf, passed on Thursday, June 22 at the age of 88.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have announced the passing of the aged mum of the Chief Coach of the Super Eagles Salisu Yusuf.
Hajia Bintu Yusuf who is the mother of Yusuf, passed on Thursday, June 22 at the age of 88.
“We regret to announce that our chief coach, Salisu Yusuf lost his mother, Hajia Binta Yusuf, earlier today, (Thursday). She was aged 88,” the NFF announced via the official Twitter handle of the Super Eagles.
Details have been revealed about the death of Yusuf’s mother.
The 55-year-old coach is currently preparing the Super Eagles Team B for the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers in August.
The NFF recently denied reports that they have taken the responsibility of the Super Eagles Team B from Yusuf and given it to his boss Gernot Rohr.
“Salisu’s appointment letter stated that he will be in charge of the CHAN Super Eagles. He will remain with the team as the NFF have no plan to impose Rohr on the domestic Eagles,” an NFF source is quoted to say by Complete Sports.
Salisu has worked as assistant manager of the Super Eagles under Stephen Keshi, Sunday Oliseh and Samson Siasia.
Yusuf led Kano Pillars to the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) title in 2008 and Enyimba to domestic Cup success in 2013.
