As Real Madrid set a new UEFA Champions League record by being the first football club to win the trophy back to back, Spanish defender Sergio Ramos appeared to wrap a ‘Nigerian’ flag around his waist. The distinctive green-white-green flag was obvious and made many fans wonder why he was wearing it.

Sergio Ramos owned the Nigerian flag after the UCL. How I wished the owners of Nigeria can start a good spin from there. A change 4d better

Please is @SergioRamos wearing Nigeria flag during the  celebrations? Looks like Green White Green.

News flash: the player indeed was wearing a green, white and green flag but it most certainly isn’t the Nigerian flag. Sorry guys.
Sergio Ramos wearing the green white green flag.
It’s actually the Andalusian flag which looks exactly like the Nigerian one- except for the coat of arms in the middle.

Andalusia is an autonomous region in the southern part of Spain. The capital is Seville. Sergio Ramos was born in Seville and started his football career with Sevilla, the local club of the region before moving on to Real Madrid where he has won fifteen major titles till date.

Real Madrid wins UCL trophy for the 12th time.
So he wasn’t actually wearing a Nigerian flag; he was simply representing his home town.

The flag is Andalusian, not Nigerian.
